The UNITED GUARDIANS PARTY (UGP)
The UNITED GUARDIANS PARTY, or UGP is a Political Party organized on 26 May 2003. It was born out of the imperative need
for a vehicle that will effectively translate into reality, the common aspirations and dreams of the Filipino people that
have been neglected for so long. These are the masses found in the rural countryside, urban centers, and in areas where development
and growth have been elusive and most wanted. Where opportunities for employment, livelihood, economic uplift and agricultural
development has remained closed to the many, but has favored the few who are recipients of political patronage, privilege
of kinship with those in high positions and as instruments of the vested interests and political ambitions of politicians
in power. Of these many that are disadvantaged are included the members of the Guardians Brotherhood and their families.
The UNITED GUARDIANS PARTY is envisioned as the underlying stratagem that will help set the correct ideological, political
and organizational direction towards an active participation in the establishment of a just and Democratic Philippine Society.
It aims to produce leaders with a strong commitment to serve the Filipino masses in its struggle against all forms of
oppression and exploitation- in the pursuit of Genuine Independence and National Liberation.
